In May, Stephan Schatz , Martin Sorf , and Markus Herrlich visited Tokyo, Japan, to meet with a specialist in highly automated production systems for the MedTech industry.
The visit went far beyond a technical exchange. It provided an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships, discuss future developments in medical device manufacturing, and benchmark existing production concepts against the latest industry standards.
The discussions focused on innovation, precision, quality, process stability, and scalable production processes. A particular focus was placed on automated cannula production. During the exchange, solutions for grinding, anticoring, electropolishing, cleaning, and final inspection were presented and discussed. These processes play an important role in reliable, efficient, and high-quality cannula manufacturing, particularly in applications where precision, process stability, and consistent product performance are essential — from drug delivery systems to point-of-care solutions.
